Why You Shouldn't Use Bleach For Mold

The common misconception when it comes to cleaning up mold is that bleach will get the job done. However, bleach is only effective on non-porous surfaces, and while it may appear to be clean the roots of the mold are still trapped under the surface. Secondly, bleach contains 90% water and mold thrives off of moisture. The moisture that bleach leaves behind encourages new mold growth. The bottom line is, always call the professionals when dealing with mold. Our technicians have gone through extensive training in order to recognize and remediate mold.

Large Water and Mold Damage Pack Out in Grosse Pointe, MI

This is a photo from one of our largest pack out jobs to date. SERVPRO of Farmington & Farmington Hills' contents team was called out by another SERVPRO franchise in order to complete the pack out portion of this extensive job. The basement was over 5,000 square feet and filled to the brim. Unfortunately, the homeowner was out of town when the sump pump failed and mold took over. We packed it all up, took it back to our shop to clean, and returned it "Like it never even happened."

We were able to place a storage pod in the homeowner's driveway to make them feel at ease with the whole process.

Water Damage from Sprinkler Systems in Commercial Buildings

SERVPRO of Farmington and Farmington Hills was called out at 4 AM to this daycare facility when the Farmington Hills Fire Department got notice of a sprinkler system that had burst.
